Introducing The New Morning Ed
This is as much a prototype as a project at this point, but I am giving it a shot and seeing how it goes. The idea is a video in the morning between 2-5 minutes long, exploring very briefly an issue or a question. The video is mostly aimed at an outside audience (promoting Ordinary Times is a part of my motivation) but also explains more what it’s about and what I hope to accomplish.
Oh my gosh!Report
Who let the homeless person into your house to make a video?Report
But if OT names are attached to faces, then maybe they’re human beings with feelings, and…I’m going to have to rethink some things.Report
No more assuming you’re sparring with bots or people in leotards with face tattoos.Report
I never thought anyone here was a bot…Report
Just wait till you see our new interpretive dance segments coming up…Report
Now that, I have no problem denouncing as if inhuman.Report
You can film it, but you can’t make me watch it!Report
You wound my heart sir…Report
Aren’t you supposed to be dancing or eating a giant pile of something weird in these kind of vids? Oh well, both podcasts are good so far this should be good.
Now I have to go start my own website: Name everything in Wills room. ComReport
I can be a guest but I must be a talking motorcycle.Report
Well delivered. Did you have it written out and posted by the camera, or are you just that smooth?Report
Thanks. I had an outline that looked something like this:
1) Who I am
2) What Ordinary Times is
3) Pivot to multimedia
4) About Morning Ed
5) What I am doing
6) Say name and Ordinary Times again
It took a lot of takes. But the number of takes for each subsequent one has been fewer as I have learned a lot of “Do not” (do not swing back and forth in the chair, do not lean forward with my hand on my knee, etc) and as I get more confident and a better idea of what means I needed to do it again and what I could just let slide.Report
OT Pivots to video!
Have you considered the Milennial post-edit ironic style? a’la Brad LeoneReport
Hmmm. I’ve long thought of adding a video segment to the Throughput. Hmmm …..Report
Jeezus, NOBODY here looks like I imagine them to.Report
Right? It’s like they made a movie of a favorite book, and the actors don’t look anything like how you pictured the characters — in this case even though there were illustrations.Report
Don’t be fooled; it’s not Will. Look at his avatar. Hair parted on the wrong side. They walk among us.Report
The hair’s definitely not disheveled enough. It’s basicallly sheveled really. And not nearly as cranky as the avatar. I think we’ve been duped. I want to see the birth certificate.Report
