Looks like you can get a vintage one for about $500.
(Is fur still unfashionable or is it coming back or what?)Report
It is wild that almost 100 years of social conditioning makes it difficult to grasp, even with photographic evidence, that this used to be the height of men’s fashion.
I had a (red plaid! So very obviously fake) short jacket like the women’s ones shown in that story. (I actually made it myself. Now I wonder if I still have that pattern and if I could make a slightly slimmer-fit one if I could find good quality faux raccoon). I have an odd taste in clothing though and I would totally wear a faux raccoon coat if I could get one.
I dunno, maybe I saw too many old cartoons and stuff but the stereotype of the “raccoon coat college boy” was something that didn’t seem that weird; it just seemed like an early 20th C. fashion thing.Report
