A Brief Lesson on Etiquette From Negaoryx
Presented without further comment, cause this is pretty thorough by Negaoryx:

That was glorious.Report
99% of the time they ignore trolls, 1% of the time they…give the trolls exactly what they want?
Bullies want to make you do something. If you do something, they win. Even if you hit them, you’re hitting them because they made you do it. This person went on a two-minute rant that wouldn’t have happened without the bully.
“but banning them is Doing Something, if you’re not supposed to Do Something then, what, you just let them be horrible in the chat?” Yeah, well, there’s doing something, and then there’s doing something. Like, you can Do Something by clicking the “ban” button and getting on with your day, or you can Do Something by allowing the bully to be a short-term co-author for your Content Creation act. Like, you can give the bully a small win or a big one; which seems better?Report
Recognize the symbiotic relationship. Troll got his attention jollies, troll target gets hers for being so “brave” standing up to the mean person in the screen.
Isn’t this why people watch professional wrestling?Report
