The city I grew up in used to “close” 8th street hill for sledding. Sledders could bomb down two blocks-worth of hill and crash into the big mountain of snow piled up from plowing the grocery store parking lot at the bottom. One winter I recall carelessly wiping out a little kid on one of my runs (it was an accident). On my very next run one of the older kids followed me down, grabbed the rail on my sled, and dumped me over. I knew it was coming and I knew I had to let it happen. Frontier justice.Report
