love me some Tull. Ian did an album with London Symphony Orchestra called A Classic Case pretty awesome. on a side not I just got a Jack Russell puppy who I named Jethro after the band. Some people get it the rest are Oh like the Beverly Hillbillys?absolutely not
the knife is the new house favorite. it is awesome! the book just came today I'm excited to try a whole bunch of those recipes. I'll get back to you on what we try
I've lived mostly in big cities OKC, Louisville, Denver, NYC and DC. and one small town Bolivar WV. In three of the big cities I lived in the so called bad side of town and really never had any problems.
Here is reporting from a small town area that I love to go visit but I sure as heck do not want to live there after hearing this https://t.co/n5QztSqtPg
I went to Oshkosh mumblemumble years ago. It was awesome. I got Pappy Boyintons autograph! It is the only airshow I have gone to despite living next to Andrews AFB when I was in DC (close enough the show planes turned over the house) and now living within a stones throw of Tinker AFB
I sent you some pictures of a white one I also found lurking in my cabinets that is corning ware its not very exciting. And you are right that the brown ones are Pyrex which if I had just looked at the bottom I would have figured that out.
Thanks for this now I am going to be obsessing about corning ware every time I am in a thrift store.
Martinsburg has nice antique/thrift/junk stores. or at least they did 20 years ago when I lived in Harprers Ferry
Great and entertaining column. WE did not have much corning ware growing up except a mom had one maybe 2.5 quart cornflower one that was used to serve mashed potatoes. I have some that I assume are from the 70s. two small rectangular pans no lid one is like a small loaf size that are dark brown with white flowers and two smaller ones with glass lids that are tan with no decoration. I took pictures but don't know how to attach them.
I am absolutely devastated to hear this. He was such a huge part of me growing up. My Dad was a big fan. I remember the first 45 records (with that little yellow disc) that my sister, brother, and I got. She got Fernando by Abba, my brother Muskrat Love by Captain and Tennille (in his defense he was a kid), and I had the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald (my Goth tendencies started young). One of my greatest regrets is not getting to see him preform live.
Maybe I'll make it to a Fest one of these years. Hope you all have fun! Husband and the boy are off to move his sister and my future son-in-law back to Oklahoma. I'm on puppy sitting duty. Hope fully one of the rent houses come through today or there will be 5 adults, 4 cats and 2 dogs in my house. Not to mention a scramble to find a storage unit on labor day. But the important thing is she will be home!
After all the reno is done relax and enjoy your new fixed up digs. I know its stressful for you but what a joy once its done. We do all our own work and projects drag on forever some for years now. Enjoy the completion.
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead is one of my FAVORITE movies ever! Had (okay still have) huge crush on Gary Oldman and Tim Roth...Gary a little more. Dreyfus was great too
I can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and I can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and I can do you all three concurrent or consecutive, but I can’t do you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory — they’re all blood, you see.
This one hits me hard. My teenage years in the early 80s were filled with Meat Loaf songs. Starting in 8th grade used to sneak out the house with girls across the street to watch the midnight showing of Rocky Horror every Saturday night. In 2011 my husband surprised me with tickets on my birthday to see him. I tell you what he put on a hell of a show for a fat, 65 year old guy.
Strangely, just last week the only 4 women I work with were chatting and somehow black honey came up and turns out all 4 of us own it. I do not wear makeup and never lipstick it is the only gloss I have. Bought it in the 90s
Yup I'm 16 ish first job outdoor amphitheater (best job ever) I would get my parents in free. Was talking to them then had to go backstage to do something. Gate is guarded by some biker dude I go thru and come back out to find my dad. I asked him how did he get backstage? He said I followed you and said hey I'm with her! He always said better to beg forgiv8than ask permission, oh and always carry a clipboard it'll get you almost anywhere
This was a great post. Music that my dad listened to was kinda e lectic maybe that's where I get it from . The Kingston Trio (we are from boston so 'natch) Jim Croce, Gordon Lightfoot, Fleetwood Mac esp Stevi, Mike Oldfield Tubular Bells, Mannheim Steamroller and who can forget when he followed me at work backstage and I was mortified to find him with his glass of wine chatting up Al Jereau....I sure do miss him
