On “Zoom To End Full Time Work From Home. No, Seriously

There's been a study done on this, though my initial googling has not rustled it up, in summary work from home mildly boosts your top producers and mildly dampens your average producers but it royally fishes over inexperienced employees- without being jammed in with more vets they learn and develop a LOT more slowly.

On “New Hampshire’s First in the Nation Primary Is Good for Everyone

After the cluster fish of the last caucus Iowa justly deserves to go last and, frankly, no Democratic candidate anywhere should waste another dime there. New Hampshire is, at least, a primary and hasn't fished up recently so I feel some very minor sympathy for the argument. The best compromise is for NH to continue to go first but to not get delegates at the Democratic convention and for candidates to decide whether or not to compete there. If NH is truly as great as the OP says then it'll organically draw enough support and interest to merit attention- if not, it'll just be a quirky state.

It is interesting either way but if they can super conduct it is game changing of course.

"

Fascinating and exciting, but now the replication.

Or maybe the suicide rate of medical providers in countries with single payer vs America?

"

It's a hypothesis, sure, but given that the problem you are highlighting already exists and is escalating in a world where medical care for animals is not a positive right and has zero prospect of becoming one I would say it is a very weak hypothesis.

"

But what does that have to do with the number of dogs that get killed when they escape their yards, run into streets and get hit by cars?

About as much correlation, I suspect, as there is between animal medical care givers rates of suicides, human medical care givers rates of suicide and the propensity of people to call a consumer good a right.

Bloomberg was a Republican through his entire two terms as Mayor though he also got the independent party endorsement for his run for re-election.

"

Looking at the state of global (actual) communism now vs the past I'd say your worries are profoundly misplaced.

"

Attitudes, yes, you can find an attitude for everything. That particular attitude is pretty silly.

"

He ran and was elected and re-elected as a Republican but he also got the Independent party endorsement when he was re-elected.

"

He's certainly an wealthy idiot.

"

Believe it? I was there!

"

Bzzzt. incorrect.

Bloomberg quit being a Democratic Party member to run as a Republican in 2001 after Giuliani was term limited out. Giuliani endorsed him, he got the nomination and was elected as a Republican Mayor. His big gulp banning was done as a Republican.

On “Rights vs. Needs: Communism and Slavery

I'm thoroughly confused. You brought up vet suicide in a comment thread on a form letter article about how positive rights are communism and slavery but allowed that vet services are not currently legally a positive right. Now you're saying that I'm not hypothesizing much about the causes of and proposing policies to address vet suicide? You're right, I'm not. Did you get lost on the way to the open mike thread?

"

The mayor who tried to ban big sodas in New York (Bloomie) was a Republican ya know.

"

A Spot in every pot!

Mmmm I think we'd need a much greater abundance of doctors for doctors to then be so poorly paid that the stress of their job and their patiences obnoxiousness to penetrate through the jolly jingling of lucre in their ears.

Is free veterinary care for Fido a right established by law? I must have missed it.

None of which would matter a whit in the election similarly to how the right perennially calling the lefts candidate a communist, godless baby killer never moves the needle. But when his Randoid comments got into the news that'd actually hurt him along with the inevitable fact that he'd be a corporate vulture minion of the wealthy plutocrats. It's weird how even right wingers are so luke warm about voting for a leopard to eat their faces that they'll vote for one to eat others faces instead.

On “Additional Indictments In Trump Classified Docs Case

It is very bemusing to see you adopting the world weary pose that both "parties are weak and can get rolled by the social media wave of a charismatic populist." In the shadow of the unambiguous fact that in 2016 AND in 2020 one of the two parties rules, structures, elite Politicians and base voters firmly crushed the campaigns of charismatic populists in favor of more centrist and transactional "normal" politicians. Especially when you do so by pointing at Barack Fishin' Obama who is, easily, the most staid and conservative President the country has had since, what, Bush I?
