Let me expound. The Republican Party has at the head of its ticket a man who incited a riot in 2021 which had as its participants people who were actively trying to subvert the will of the electorate. He's spent the last 4 years telling those same people that any other result than him winning in 2024 will be due to the fact that the opposing side cheated. Do you think his supporters will be more peaceful in 2025 than they were in 2021?
To be honest, I was kind of surprised primaries were even held. Why bother with an incumbent?
What is it you'd like to learn? A private organization decided to change course. Whether there was chicanery involved or not isn't going to change the American polity for the better one iota.
AFAIK, not in theaters, but The Saint of Second Chances is a must watch. It’s a documentary (mostly) about Mike Veeck and his post-Disco Demolition fall from grace and rise from the ashes. Very highly recommended.
Heh. Very good point. I've been waiting for assassination attempt merch to start popping up on Twitter. T-shirts with the raised fist photo are already there.
To be honest, with the proliferation of guns in the country over the last few decades, I'm kind of amazed it took this long for something like this to happen.
We could trade clips until Election Day. I didn’t watch the debate but I understand Trump once again refused to state categorically he’d accept whatever result there was on that day.
Does that sound like a man who’s fit for the office?
It’s the weekend of the annual minor league baseball trip with my son, a tradition we’ve carried on since 2006. We played 9 holes of golf before the game tonight, and we’re driving up to a LPGA tournament before tomorrow’s game.
I remember seeing that movie when it came out, but I sure didn’t ascribe any political meaning to it. Who else would portray 1930s Texas Rangers but white guys?
The other night we went to see 12 Angry Men at the local art house. It came out in 1956 and if woke was a term back then I imagine it could have been applied to that movie. Local Hispanic thug goes on trial for murder and it looks like an open and shut case. Henry Fonda spends a couple of hours making a case for reasonable doubt, overcoming a lazy defense and bigoted jurors. In the end the kid walks. Conversely, it could be seen as a white savior movie. I guess it all depends on who’s doing the watching.
Just about an hour ago I was dismayed to learn my girlfriend had no idea the phrase “more cowbell” is a thing. Now I have to spend the weekend pondering our relationship.
Tomorrow I’m going suit shopping for a wedding we’re attending in NYC in July. My nephew is turning 30 and there’s a cocktail party.

Conspiracies are false? What does that mean?

Maybe he just did the right thing. Who knows, and, more importantly, does it really matter?

Can it be called a conspiracy when it's done in the open? I would posit that it cannot.
