I'm going to go with Occam's Razor on this one. ESPN is JAQing off with this stuff. There's absolutely no substance. (Though the NFL has certainly invited this. Remember when there couldn't be professional sports in Vegas due to the legalized gambling?)
Let's say he scores. Then there's the PAT, where no time runs off the clock. The Eagles kick off and it's a touchback. Still the same amount of time on the clock. The Eagles' D has to come out and defend who knows how many plays in garbage time. Why risk the injury?
Professional sports may (probably will) someday rue the day they got into bed with bookies, but Barkley's slide was just a class move to not run up the score. Why prolong the game?
I always put George on a level with John in his solo career. They occasionally knocked out some bangers, but most of their production was filler. I never was able to make it through All Things Must Pass. It's just a little too turgid for me.
Last year we started bi-monthly lunch and cards with our mom and the tradition continues this Saturday. We've been playing a game called Skyjo. It's mostly luck, with a little skill thrown in, and it's perfect for kibbitzing.
Church and seeing an old friend on Sunday. Hopefully, the tail end of this stupid cold I came down with after Christmas.

This kind of stuff has been consequence free for years, and will continue to be so unless elected officials decide to do something about it.
