Somebody on Twitter made the comment that this is surprisingly ‘good television’ and so probably very effective at swaying the opinion of some Fency McFencertons, and maybe even unsticking some more hard boiled partisans.

Though the other side of it is that this is super early in any sort of National election cycle – so people are simply going to forget their current feelings in a few month, never mind a year and a half. Plus, Fox is already counter programming against it.Report

This is a way stronger and way tighter case then last time – and the prior case was pretty clear and damning.

Too bad power has corrupted the GOP so clearly and so completely they still won’t be moved.Report

Still less blood and people shot than on that GOP softball field awhile back. Truly LGM levels of lamenting. HaReport

  5. Remember when excitable idiots used to insist that if they lost Clinton, or W, or Obama would refuse to leave the White House and either invoke martial law or bring in their mobs? And how we sensible, intelligent folks would pooh-pooh that, because this is America and that’s not how things work here?Report

The House managers have made an excellent case, and used both trump’s words and video very well against him. It’s really sad that he’s STILL likely to be acquitted but on a day where NOR reports the latest AEI polling shows 4 in 10 Republicans believing in violence to preserve “America’s traditional way of life,” it is also probably true that the GOP has little other political choice if they want to remain in power – and they very much want to remain in power.Report

Haha, that’s rich. Leftist have the most violent ideology in the history of ideology, yet here the lamenting is about violence again.
