Indiana To Fully Reopen, But Mask Requirement Remains
Indiana Governor Holcomb announced the state will fully reopen, but a mask requirement will remain.
Governor Holcomb has announced that Indiana will move to stage 5 of reopening as coronavirus trends continue to improve.
Stores, malls, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and gyms will all be able to open at full capacity beginning Saturday.
Limits on gatherings will be removed, but gathering plans must be submitted to local health departments. Face masks will still be required until at least October 17.
While restaurants and bars will now be able to operate at total capacity, social distancing between tables will still be required.
In St. Joseph County, percent positivity has been low for several weeks, while new and active cases are still in the “red zone.”
That’s not gonna end well. But it will be educational for anyone who dares to pay attention.Report
If they can enforce wear your mask (including your damned nose), and wash/properly sanitize your hands regularly, the results might be surprisingly good. That said, I don’t expect law enforcement, particularly in rural areas and college towns, to provide the necessary level of enforcement.Report
We need to hammer out whether we, as a society, want less of a police presence or whether we want more of one.Report
Maybe just less of a police with guns drawn and ablazin’ presence.Report
Maybe we should train them to use restraining holds instead of firearms.Report
“We, as a society,” probably want more of some types of police presence and less of other types of police presence, and probably don’t much care how it nets out in total.Report
Well, I’ll just point to one of my favorite Vox writers…
