Yeah his notion of a person working full time for minimum wage as being functionally unemployed miscalls takes my entire state’s economy down. And I think a LOT of Mississippians would disagree with that statement.
The three biggest sources of deadwood are tax breaks for corporations and the 1% - they have never trickled down nor have there ever driven growth as promised; defense spending and tax incentives for business (like ethanol subsidies). Canning off the 1% that is foreign aid is never going to help. Ditto firing half the federal workforce. What has been proposed so far is burning it all down so that rich tech bros don’t have their greed impinged on. Nothing more nothing less.
So want it all burned down. You offer no real solutions to the problems you identify. And you remain convinced that federal civil servants - doing what congress told them to do - need to suffer as a consequence. Got it.
Should anyone care to read it the EO reducing the federal workforce is out. Of note, agencies not “required” by statute will be prioritized. Know what doesn’t have an authorizing statue or organic act? NOAA. The Weather service does and the fisheries service does, but despite numerous attempts the rest of NOAA does not.
I’m sure we will get there because you can’t cut the workforce that far back without impacting systems. But once you cut NSF 50% does it matter if all the supercomputers in boulder are still on? Or at oak ridge? No one will be able to buy the compute time.

But again civil servants doing what they have been told and funded to do that you don’t like isn’t not breaking any laws.
