And if you have ever traveled I-68 (western Maryland/West Virginia) the highway expands from 2 to 3 lanes up several inclines, which is helpful. But I find it strange that the 3rd lane is for trucks to move right - instead of having the new lane open to the left so that cars can just pass as need be. Seems like a backwards, inefficient and more dangerous way to do it. (Dangerous because trucks have to merge back to the left when the lane ends).
Passing trucks on the right can be dangerous, but if you have ever driven I-81 through Pennsylvania, there is no way around it. I don't know what it is about Penn, but the truckers passing through that state chronically sit in the left lanes of 2-lane highways. It is absolutely maddening.
Say what you will about Robert Moses, I truly appreciate his "parkways" that prohibit truck traffic.
Ratings for MLB's All-Star Game have been in steady decline for awhile. I imagine holding the convention now is preferable to going up against a full slate of regular season MLB games as well as preseason NFL football.

This, however, is such an abysmal, avoidable security failure, I can't believe the level of incompetence. They were in the middle of a field! There was one building within close range of the stage!
It's hard to imagine a scenario that doesn't end with the Secret Service leadership getting cleaned out. It was their show. They direct the local yokals. You don't just leave it to them as if they were the NYPD and they have experience working these events.
I have not either. Between state and county, no one in is in a rush to own it.
Hopefully the police officer had a body camera w working audio on. At least we'd know the timing from when he dropped from the roof and shots being fired. That's assuming the FBI releases it before we are all dead.
Secret Service says local police were responsible for securing the shelters outside the security perimeter.
So, mistake #1 was not having those structures *inside* the primary security zone, leaving them to local police.
Mistake #2 is the local police not already having someone on top of those structures, if only to monitor happenings below if not to ensure no one climbed up.
It seems the horse was essentially out of the barn by the time the local cop climbed up somone else's ladder to see what he saw.
There is definitely a point of diminishing returns when it comes to the heat scale. I have grown all types of hot peppers, and while everyone's heat tolerance is different, it's hard to imagine anyone being able to actually taste anything in that Carolina Reaper level or above.
I personally stopped bothering with Ghosts bc they are just too hot. Habaneros are more than hot enough for 99% of the population - and probably still too hot for most. Thai Chilis are great sweet spot for those who want hot enough to feel the endorphine bite but still fully taste the flavor of the food you are eating.
