On “Former President Donald Trump Indicted By New York Grand Jury

Talk to me after an audit of every single candidate for president has been done. I'm sure you can find enough "legal shenanigans" to fill an ocean. You can accuse him of being inept, but I doubt there's much difference between him and all the rest.

"

60 Minutes did a story on this....iirc....Donald invited her up to his hotel room for dinner, and after dinner, he walked into the bedroom. She followed, with a certain amount of apprehension, but still slept with him.

He assumed the sale. She went along. Of all the crappy stuff that he's done, nailing her is kinda far down the list....but hey, it's Trump, and we must feed the Trump haters with any red meat we can...

On “Marriage is Good, Actually

Marriage was never something I wanted. My ex did, badly. What made me happy in the marriage was that her happiness increased dramatically vs living together. She wasn't all that enthusiastic about having kids either, but that was a condition of our marriage: I'd marry her but I didn't want kids.

Going forward, I don't really care to get married again. Not without YEARS of being in a relationship. My ex and I were together over a decade before we got married.

"

Nope. Just divorced. And my ex is a wonderful person. Numerous people have told me that over the years, and yes, I think she is too, generally.

"

Women initiate something like 80% of divorces. The majority of cases the woman has primary physical custody, even if the kids aren't young. Family law is actively on the side of women in these areas, and alimony. Cali law, for example, states alimony can go on, theoretically forever, if the marriage lasted more than 10 years. There does seem to be a implicit bias that kids belong with their mother and dad's a check....

"agreed" in this case means that the Fedgov TOLD them to buy it.

Best line in the tweet thread:
"Ummmm, First Citizens was one of the banks that everyone said was about to fail because their balance sheets were trash

How does one failing bank buying another bank that failed help anyone?"

Large cash infusion by the Treasury?

[ThTh1] Duh. The bias in science has been obvious for decades. When your research starts with a political bias, it ends there. Results to the contrary are not published or memory holed.

Poor thing. When my ex and I adopted a second cat she had bad teeth. Over the course of a month we had a few canine and smaller teeth removed. After that she ate like a champ.

You seemed to miss the main point. That if you're the "world leader", ie have an empire, you get to do stuff and not be held accountable....usually you can bring along your allies with you to participate. However, when you fall and another country rises up to be the top dog, 1) you'll find you can't get away with the same stuff you used to and 2) THEY CAN.

"

Really, cause it seems the US has one going on right now...

"

You should read your history.....

I was specifically thinking about a convo I had with a Jewish girlfriend at the time, who thought we should invade Egypt because it looked like the Muslim brotherhood was going to win elections. I described a scenario where we invaded, and based upon experiences in Afghanistan, etc. said, "Assume we'll spend (not sure 50 trillion maybe) amount during a 10 year occupation and then hold elections. Assuming they are free, what if the Muslim brotherhood wins?" She said, invade again. I postulated that it would be cheaper financially to just nuke Cairo (maybe with a neutron bomb) than continually invading. It save a lot of American lives and treasure.

That led to another convo about torturing terrorists to save kids on a school bus. I asked her, on a sliding scale, where the number of terrorists tortured went from 1 to 50 and the number of kids on the bus when exactly the opposite way, how many terrorists she'd torture to save the kids. When she said "as many as it takes", I asked her why that line of thinking didn't work for the Germans in WW2. Of Couse, the reason is that the Germans LOST the war. Nothing happened to the US for putting Japanese Americans into concentration camps.

Ultimately, when you are the king of the heap, you get away with similar stuff that others get punished for. Might makes right. But no one ever considers that someone else will climb the pile and displaces you….THAT’S when you just might pay for your sins

"

I've had several conversations with people who mention China's treatment of it's Muslim population. My comment is: "What do you want the US to do about it?" When they give an answer, which usually is some type of force or embargo or such, I throw that back them asking "So you're OK with foreign countries doing that to the US for (insert reason) right"? They usually shut up. Because it's OK when WE do it, but having other's call out our crappy behavior is wrong.
Truth is, nothing but talking is going to get done and the Chinese don't give a damn about what we think.

All media "personalities" are part of the elite. Their income alone puts them in that category. "Conservative" media personalities have more in common with their "liberal" colleagues than they do the people they claim to "represent"/broadcast to. Same for politicians. Why would your link be surprising?

"

Easy.

1) All the females that are capable of giving birth.
2) All the men old enough to 1) impregnate them 2) defend the colony. Everyone else is expendable.

"

Indeed. This generally tracks my trendline as well, but not for the reasons given in this survey. Mine are/is that basically the American empire is approaching collapse. Will it be a drop is "status' as China takes over, or one too many foreign policy debacles like Afghanistan, or something else, I don't know.....but all empires come to an end. The question is how and what grows out of the remnants.

"

You know what also gets you pulled over?

1) Speeding. 30 miles over the posted limit is legally reckless driving. ((Usually you just get a thousand dollar fine and 5 points--at least when I got caught.) In Virginia, it's 20 over the limit and you may indeed go jail.))
2) Speeding and having a out of state tag.
3) Speeding and having an out of state tag and it's 1am.

Every time I've been pulled over, and it used to happen on a regular basis, the cop's hand was on his firearm....

"It’s not ‘really violence’, or at least most of it wasn’t violence, because violence is a thing you do against people, not things."

behavior involving physical force intended to hurt, damage, or kill someone or something."

So damaging buildings is violence...
