I think this is spot on. Trump is such a political wildcard, and American politics, aside from a few back bench nutters in the House, isn't usually equipped to deal with his like. There's no real way to explain the DJT phenomenon.
"Not to mention supporting changing his own state's flag to more closely resemble the Somali national flag in some limp wristed attempt to garner votes from Somali immigrants."
Reddit is probably not the place to go for insightful political analysis.
"In fact, he did cheat with Tiger Woods. Not long after becoming president, Trump invited Woods, Dustin Johnson (the No. 1 player in the world at the time), and longtime Tour pro and Fox golf analyst Brad Faxon to play."
I know that wasn't your point, I just had to share some of Rick Reilly's excellent writing. I read the book this article was excerpted from and the disgust with Trump's golf cheating was very explicit.
Let me expound. The Republican Party has at the head of its ticket a man who incited a riot in 2021 which had as its participants people who were actively trying to subvert the will of the electorate. He's spent the last 4 years telling those same people that any other result than him winning in 2024 will be due to the fact that the opposing side cheated. Do you think his supporters will be more peaceful in 2025 than they were in 2021?
To be honest, I was kind of surprised primaries were even held. Why bother with an incumbent?
What is it you'd like to learn? A private organization decided to change course. Whether there was chicanery involved or not isn't going to change the American polity for the better one iota.
AFAIK, not in theaters, but The Saint of Second Chances is a must watch. It’s a documentary (mostly) about Mike Veeck and his post-Disco Demolition fall from grace and rise from the ashes. Very highly recommended.
Heh. Very good point. I've been waiting for assassination attempt merch to start popping up on Twitter. T-shirts with the raised fist photo are already there.
To be honest, with the proliferation of guns in the country over the last few decades, I'm kind of amazed it took this long for something like this to happen.
We could trade clips until Election Day. I didn’t watch the debate but I understand Trump once again refused to state categorically he’d accept whatever result there was on that day.
Does that sound like a man who’s fit for the office?
It’s the weekend of the annual minor league baseball trip with my son, a tradition we’ve carried on since 2006. We played 9 holes of golf before the game tonight, and we’re driving up to a LPGA tournament before tomorrow’s game.

Rant on! Having just visited NYC and sampled their pizza, you can't do any better than good ol' square cut 'za from the local Chicago pizzeria.

Maybe he just did the right thing. Who knows, and, more importantly, does it really matter?

Can it be called a conspiracy when it's done in the open? I would posit that it cannot.
