"He is a veteran, a teacher, and a gun owner who was once endorsed by the NRA."
Generally I agree with you but I feel like that endorsement is maybe not worth mentioning, because it ended six years ago when Walz took a hard swerve into gun control after the Parkland High School shooting.
I think that nothing Harris or Walz did in 2020 will matter unless it's found that they directly donated to the bail fund for a wife-beater whose first act on release was to knife her and the kids.
If anything, I've seen more people upset that they missed their chance to dunk on the Idiot God-Cultists than I've seen people genuinely upset about the imagery. Most people seem to just figure that it's more Olympic Opening Ceremony Weirdness, which has a long and glorious tradition.
Jaybird, keep in mind that over the past few years a surprising number of people took the attitude that innocent people don't get accused of crimes. And it's at least consistent for them to say also that anyone not accused of a crime is innocent.
"The Emperor was objectively observed to be naked, but everyone pretended they could see the glamorous clothes because they didn’t want to be a lone dissenter."
Or maybe everyone recognized the need for institutional continuity and was aware that normalizing critique of minor missteps would lead to a loss of confidence in the administration and an inability to achieve policy goals. On the other hand, this kid thinks that The Truth (as he sees it) is more important than having an actual functional society. So yeah, maybe the Emperor was standing there naked, but if we don't stand behind him then what comes next will be worse...
No, it's the usual thing where they keep insisting that them being too stupid to understand your posts means you didn't answer the question.
These are guys who don't understand what it meant that when they were in grade school they would rather go hungry than eat sandwiches with the crusts still on.
The person Freddie de Boer ought to be blaming for this whole thing is Joe Biden, not Kamala Harris or The DNC or whoever. Biden's the one who insisted that he was Just Fine Thank You and definitely capable of running for President, for long enough that nobody bothered seriously campaigning against him this year.
"No one here at OT is willing to say these things in their own words and defend them."
...wait, so you think that me and Jaybird and Pinky and...I dunno, who's left? You think we're all actually going to vote for Trump and we're lying when we say that we aren't?
Kamala Harris is in a lot of ways the same as Donald Trump, in that she recognizes that her supporters already support her and all she really needs to do is cheerlead.
'Is there a gameplan for how we treat the people demanding that Biden stay in for as long as he did? Do we want to make that more costly in the future?"
Brother, we can't even get people to admit that "N95 masks are about all the protection you need from COVID" was the right take all along; you're certainly not going to get them to admit that Biden was too old for the job.

He talks about culture-war stuff because he's GenX and he grew up in a time when we were supposed to have moved past all that, gotten over it, and the internet was supposed to be just a freewheeling no-topic-too-weird-or-morally-wrong space of absolute acceptance, and he doesn't understand why people want to turn it into High School Only Everywhere And Forever.
