When the current regime gets installed by 31% of voters we will continue to argue the morally correct, legally bolstered position.

"

Unfortunately for you ( and Jaybird) what you have written thus far claiming to defend this - "it will become popular" - very much comingles the Dreamers with everyone else. It also doesn't pass the straight face test that children born here prior to the EO would be birthright citizens and those born after are not. That's not how any of this works.

"

For whatever reason Jaybird sees Elon as a kindred spirit and thus grants grace.

"

because we expect the Constitution to "trump" the idiotic needs of a few Americans to feel superior to others?

OK Boomer.

"

children born to undocumented migrants within the US weren't brought here in violation of immigration laws. This is Dreamers - whom I still believe deserve a path to citizenship since they have assimilated and are, by all accounts, highly productive contributing residents.

But that's not this - if you are born here you didn't enter the country illegally.

On “Trump Term Two, Day One, Executive Orders

Who is going to stop him? Congress? The courts? Who?

On “Open Mic for the week of 1/20/2025

He certainly is NOT faithfully executing the law. Problem is Congress proved they will not call him to account in his two prior impeachments.

"

I was born in the US and have always assumed that made me subject to the jurisdiction there of. Was there some additional requirement i needed to pass to achieve that increasingly hollow victory?

"

Like, “if you sneak in, this doesn’t apply to you”.

Then I guess they can all breathe easy now because that means immigration laws don't apply either.

"

He's stating openly that a white South African raised in an apartheid supporting household is more likely then not to still support similar such causes.

On “Reports: Isreal and Hamas Agree To Cease-fire Deal

I doubt Bibi is afraid of his fellow traveler.

"

Indeed they have - and on cue the right is saying it's because Hamas is afraid of Trump and what he will do once he gets in office. Of course if that were the case they would have pulled a Reagan and announced the cease fire as he's being sworn in.

All of this brought to you by an overworked, underpaid civil and foreign service staff whom the GOP wants to mostly eliminate.

On “Trump’s Ace in the Hole

The list is long and varied, but as only Democrats have agency, there's no point in rolling it out.

On “Open Mic for the week of 1/13/2025

There was and remains no excuse for what SecDef did. That he still has a job is both insulting and unsurprising.

On “No Fighting In the War Room: Pete Hegseth Confirmation Hearing Livestream Edition

The GOP isn't going to do that, and the Dems don't have the votes to do that.

On “The Jack Smith Report: Read It For Yourself

Much like the House January 6th Report, people of conscience will be appalled at the evidence presented. Also like the Impeachment after the auto-coup, nothing comes of this because the institutionalists like AG Garland had and still have no coherent sense of urgency, nor did they effectively plan to counter Trump's long-standing delay, deflect, appeal strategy. He ran for president to avoid this prosecution and won.

Shame on us.

"

I have seen absolutely no interest in the part of the GOP in keeping the clown show out of the circus. So might as well confront him with the ugly truth, even if it doesn't move a single vote. At least that maintains integrity.

"

Questions about sexual assault allegations speak to his character - which is especially important given the continued "revelations" of ongoing sexual assault problem in the military. Allegations of drinking on the job and financial mismanagement get to the same issues from different angles. None of them should be washed under the rug, and he should not get a pass on them.

"

right, because his known opposition to women serving in combat roles is DEI not pentagon policy.

On “Open Mic for the week of 1/13/2025

There are two parties looking out for them since they have apparently agreed to keep things in their current state.

"

At this point, the one that sees “citizens” as something akin to members of a union and “undocumented visitors” as something akin to scabs is currently seen as better for the common man.

Other then there not being enough "union" members to replace the "scabs" when they are all run off, sure.

"

Your lips to God's ears.

5 out of 6. Way better then the average bear I suspect.
