At least one Immigration Judge in SF who was appointed by the Biden administration but still in her prohibitionary period was fired by the Trump administration for probably being too liberal.
Garcia was granted withholding of removal. This meant that an Immigration Judge found that he had a well founded fear of persecution if returned to El Salvador and that Garcia had a right to stay in the United States but could be sent to any other country besides El Salvador if a third country was willing to take him in. He had legal status in the United States. Plus, I think future agreement to send back doesn't include being sent to a notorious torture prison/forced labor camp in the country where the American government was not supposed to send him to at all.

Trump said no and went on to impose the tariffs. Netanyahu's meeting with Trump was to flatter him out of the tariffs and Trump would not budge. This is extremely bad because Netanyahu is probably the foreign leader most likely to get Trump to budge on tariffs.
Leavett confirms that the White House is looking for ways to deport American citizens to El Salvador's gulag. This is extremely unconstitutional. It is well established that American citizens may not be punished by exile. Naturally, this isn't going to stop Trump from doing what he wants to do. That the Trump administration is announcing this flagrantly illegal policy openly should basically alert everybody with a half a brain cell to the danger we are in.
It is impossible to overstate how much of a big freaking disaster this is going to be for the American consumer. It just isn't fancy Iphones that come from China. A lot of basic medicines and medical goods come from China and a lot of clothing. Things are going to get more expensive and crappier.
