Weekend Plans Post: Death and Taxes
We got all of the paperwork in and looked at each other and asked “do you want to do the taxes?” and we both agreed that we did *NOT* want to do the taxes. After a few minutes we hammered out that that was unlikely to change and so we agreed that we’d do the taxes on President’s Day.
I did my thing and downloaded the Turbotax and updated it and downloaded the Colorado stuff and looked up all of the various codes for my workplace and made sure that all of the ducks were lined up in a row and I gave Maribou the report of the preliminary numbers (we owed the Federal Government $X, Colorado owed us $X + $Y) and she said “wow, you did half of the work already! You want to do the taxes now?” and I answered “No! I was just giving you preliminary numbers!”
And President’s Day rolled around and we put in all of the official numbers and the taxes changed a little bit here and a little bit there once we had accurate ones but we finished everything up and *WHEW*. Taxes are done for another year.
And then, about a day later, we got sick. It’s been a while.
I assumed that it was food poisoning since I woke up on Wednesday morning and worked for a bit before hurrying to the john and singing the rainbow song. (And, seriously, I sang it four times that day.) And then, all day Thursday, it hurt to move. It hurt to bend over and pick up the used kitty dishes. It hurt to stand up after sitting down. It hurt to sneeze. It hurt to blow my nose.
I called in sick and asked myself “well, do you want to play a game?” and the answer was “no. I want to go back to bed.” So I just went back to bed.
Which makes me wonder if bodybuilders feel like they’ve spent the day being kicked on a day after they’ve barfed a couple of times. Lemme google… hrm. A lot of discussions of leg day.
So, anyway, we’ve had a week full of taxes and illness. Ugh. The weekend can’t get here quickly enough.
Not that we’re going to do anything. If it wasn’t food poisoning but was, instead, a bug… well, we don’t want to give it to anybody but each other. Maybe I’ll go out to the grocery store if I feel like I can get in and out of the car without feeling like a bodybuilder the day after leg day.
So… what’s on your docket?

uuuugggggh yeah that reminds me I have some of the online I-9s or whatever to print out and then I gotta drag the stuff to the CPA I used (he’s cheaper than a service, and he cleared up a giant F- up an untrained Jackson Hewitt person did some years back, without me having to pay too much of a penalty)
This coming week is my birthday week; I probably won’t do much THIS weekend but I am taking next Thursday (after class) off (we are allowed to take our birthday off) and am going out to lunch and to the used book store and the yarn shop
I do have to get and cook that “Mexican style” pot roast I do; potluck at church on Sunday.Report
Happy birthday! Get something *DECADENT*!Report
