The kitty being distracted by the sewing. “Jiminy Christmas” goes back longer than I thought (apparently it goes back to at least 1803). “Shut up” being common back then too… I guess I thought that that only dated back to the 40s or so and it does… but the imperative form goes back to the *18*40s.Report
