Saturday Morning Gaming: Order of Operations
The basic idea behind Shapez.io is that you’re creating widgets in a factor to a particular spec.
The machine that makes circle widgets needs to deliver 30 circles. Set up the conveyor belts!
This is too slow… let’s speed it up a hair…
Okay, now we need 40 *HALF* circles. Set up the cutter.
Okay, we no longer need the left half of the circle, we need the top half of a circle. Get the rotator!
As the game progresses, you start rotating and painting and having to deal with more and more and more complex shapes to deliver. Check out the trailer:
Figure how to make the shape, then deliver it. If you’re familiar with the assembly line genre, you immediately recognize this as a assemblyer that has been stripped down to its barest components. This turns the genre that I usually find stressful into a game that is almost relaxing. Almost. The game has more mods than you can shake a stick at which means that you’ve, effectively, got unlimited puzzles to keep playing.
And it’s this week’s free game from the Epic Store. If you’re looking for a game that can offer you unlimited puzzles and something that is a relaxing variant of some of what you do at your job, hey. It’s free.
So… what are you playing?
