We have been experiencing some system resource issues. We believe the problem may be resolved, but if it is not please bear with us.

On “Annual Ordinary Times Fundraising Drive”
Thanks everyone!
On “‘The Historian’”
You're sweet.
"
Thank you so much, Maribou!
"
Thanks, David.
On “A Healthy Commotion – An Introduction”
Very excited to see where this goes. Elias and Ethan, you guys just need to make sure to keep Shawn posting on a (semi) regular basis.
Not that I'm one to talk.

Now if you enter the @ symbol you can "mention" other commenters. Testing this with @jaybird and seeing how it works.

I know there are some premium comment systems you can integrate into Wordpress that do this, but I'm not sure how well they'd fit. I will look into it.
"
I can definitely give that a shot.
"
Hey, if there's one place suited to discussing first world problems it's the combox of a blog. Sheesh.
On “Welcome to Ordinary Times”
Thanks, Pierre. I won't lie, I did find some of the criticism a bit over the top at least in *tone* but I can shrug that off. It's a sign of people enjoying something and not liking to see it changed. I hope you like this format better. Re: posts and articles, I think it just depends. We hope to get more *articles* for the featured stuff while keeping the majority of the stuff here firmly in *post* territory.
On “Tinker, Blogger, Soldier, Spy”
Well, the sub-blogs are functionally the same as the previous re-design. They're just easier to jump to now.
On “Welcome to Ordinary Times”
It's under Guest Authors.

Michael, The League was one of the top contenders for the site's re-christening. However, it was widely agreed that it would be far too generic. It might resonate with old readers; for new readers, however, it would be too blank a slate, competing with too many other "The Leagues" out there.
"
Katherine, to your points:
1) Many women did not have a problem with the old name; some did. We have no way of knowing the full extent, but we have plenty of first-hand instances of where it's been problematic. I liked the old name, but there were good reasons to switch.
2) No, these aren't ordinary times. There's some irony at work here, and that's intentional.
3) I do appreciate the feedback and dissent. We didn't expect everyone to like the change. When does everyone ever like change?
"
Well Ordinary Times is the site entire, encompassing all the sites within it. I'm not wed to An Ordinary Blog at all, but it made sense to tie the name of the Main Blog to the name of the site.
On “I Went to a Wrestling Match and a Broadway Musical Broke Out”
Try this.
On “More music blogging: Revolution Lullaby”
Thanks, Tod! That's really nice of you to say. I'll definitely make some MP3s.

Ah yes. I still do an open mic on occasion and it's pretty hit and miss. Some people are just crazy good. They make you question why so many other people are famous and they're not. Others...eh, not so much. Glad you enjoyed it!
"
Thanks, David! I will...

You can do whatever you want to in the holy ghost town.

Thanks. Yeah, at some point for sure. Once I get around to recording something else.
On “Guns in Three Acts”
M.A. - I don't see anywhere in the post or combox where Mr. Dwyer specifically called you a "liberal gun-grabber." I will admit to disliking that phrase as much as you do; however, the difference is that you called him a jackass directly. He made a wide, sweeping generalization. The latter may be rhetorically ineffectual and mildly hyperbolic, but the former is a direct infringement of our commenting policy.
