When Hollaback NYC debuted their iPhone application, I mused here that they were soon going to push for stronger anti-street harassment legislation (and got flamed as a heartless, paranoid “libertarian”). Anyway, they’re now pushing for stronger anti-harassment legislation.
I was unsuccessful at googling for this previous musing. Link?Report
@FreeIX, I’ve updated and added it. The whole thing was silly because all I was trying to say was that I had mixed feelings about compiling a database for the police although I understand the sentiment behind the idea. Really, I just wanted to get people’s thoughts and was trying to be a bit provocative so they’d respond. But, the original post title (Big Sister 2.0) was probably too provocative and a fellow (who, incidentally, never returned here) got upset about my defense of ‘white male privilege’ against the downtrodden (who can afford iPhones) and took the time to attack libertarians, even though, you know, that ain’t me, man.
I’ll let it go now.Report
The second link doesn’t seem to work.Report
Yeah, damned Washington Post. I’ll see if I can find another site with the same story.Report
Okay, I’ve replaced it with a link to a Salon article on the same story.Report
