I miss writing for you all.
I was perusing several multi-paragraph drafts that I abandoned for one reason or another and find myself wondering why I can’t seem to put thoughts together these days. In my drafts, I always start out strong with a few forceful paragraphs, then run out of steam and lose a coherent thread.
You’re missing out on my half-finished rants against JD Vance, Rachel Maddow, and the ADHD med shortage of 2023. You were spared my (probably predictable) thoughts on the 2024 election. And it has been a really long time since I broke apart a new SCOTUS decision for easy consumption.
I’m not certain what my problem is these days. I have the time, with work being rather slow as of late, but I seem not to have the motivation, or perhaps inspiration. But I’m still here, moderating comments and proofreading submissions, waiting for the urge to put together a few thousand coherent words on a topic of Ordinary interest.
In the meantime, I wish all of you — yes, even you, dude who inexplicably has beef with me and snarks on everything I post — the happiest and most stress free of holiday seasons, and the most prosperous and joyful of New Years!
Warm wishes to you Em. I have had a similar spell these days. I hope you find the groove soon. I always love reading your posts.
Second.
Thank you, that’s nice to know :).
MERRY CHRISTMAS WE MISS YOU
(Try arguing about your essays with Claude! That might be a way to unstick the logjam!)
Ok! Who’s Claude?
He’s one of the AIs.

I make him read my essays and then I argue with him about them.
Merry Christmas, Em.
Merry Christmas to you!
Good to see you
I think a lot of us have lost our inspiration of late. I hope yours returns soon.
Thank you!
We miss you Em, I am just delighted to see anything from you. I hope you have a fantastic new year.
Aww, thank you! It makes me happy to know you enjoy my work, rare though it may be these days. And happy new year to you as well.
Have had episodes like you describe too. It’s nothing you need to apologize for. The muse will sing for you one day again, and when she does, enjoy her song.
Thanks Burt. Miss seeing you around!
Whatever it is will pass, and we all look forward to that.
Thank you Mike 🙂
