Almost on topic: What with family obligations passed or moved on, and friends far away on coasts, we have shifted the traditional (all the fixings) T-Day dinner to Xmas Eve. Now Xmas Morning and Day is all leftovers, pajamas and the ceremonial shredding of brightly colored paper. Ahhhh. Yesterday was an excellent (if I say so myself) chicken marsala.

    All Merry’s and Happy’s to everyone.Report

Thanksgiving is all messed up this year. One of the granddaughters’ cousins has a serious closed-head injury (state soccer tournament collision) so the big thing for the week was getting him stabilized, moved to the specialty recovery hospital, their evaluation done, and constant shuffling of dependents around to make that work.

Waffle brunch at my daughter’s yesterday morning. The new resident at her house is a half-grown Devon Rex cat. It spent much of the morning demonstrating the breed characteristic of sitting on your shoulder while you carry it around. Granddaughter #3 is only creeping but can find the cat toy — stick, string, stuffed goldfish — roll onto her back and flip it back and forth. She and the cat both think it’s great fun.Report
