Durham and LSE I suppose…Report
I have lived in a number of states where people thought about “both” universities and the superiority of one over the other. In my wife’s case, the University of Kansas and Kansas State University. For my cousin, Iowa vs Iowa State is important. When I lived in Texas, UT-Austin vs Texas A&M. I was spared much of that because Nebraska decided that one flagship university was enough.

In Utah, it’s the Y (Brigham Young) vs. the U (University of Utah).Report
Funny thing about this is that PM Hackett went to LSE. It was the subject of jokes (or at least one) at its comparative lack of prestige.
Meanwhile, over here, President Bartlett went to LSE. It was supposed to be demonstrative that he was very smart.Report
