The Kraken Lawsuit, As The French Would Say, Le Fails

With the Michigan loss, it’s like…1-50, at least.

I believe their sole win was to adjust downward a curing period in PA from 9 to 6 days.

These aren’t even good lawsuits. They’re literally just conspiracy theories slapped to paper. Even the ones Powell isn’t involved with, they’re working with…nothing, and making outrageous demands.

It’s like complaining you feel your big mac isn’t made with 100% pure beef (lab report pending, this is just how you feel) and the remedy you want is you now get to own McDonalds. And all your evidence is people claiming they once heard a guy saying Big Macs are made with chicken or pork or people or sometimes there’s tomatoes in there.

You have a lab report, but it’s from Bob’s basement lab and the author is redacted, and all his data, because he fears the Burger King will kill him.Report

I have noticed that the large firms that normally handle this kind of thing for the RNC (and sometimes for campaigns) have completely vanished. Withdrew when some of the suits were still pending and nowhere in sight for the new ones. I assume some combination of salvaging their reputation and not being in range if a judge or bar association comes down on Rudy and Sidney over frivolous lawsuits.Report

I think its more insidious then that – the short term goal is fund raising. The long term goal is to get ALEC to write a bunch of voting laws for states to pass to smack a lot of this down so its even harder next time. Even without court wins the mere suggestion of impropriety in court filings is probably enough to give state legislators cover to “address the irregularities” but making it harder to vote, especially absentee.Report
