I am wondering how it compares with one of m favorite postwar novels, Greenes End of the Affair. Not in a “which one is better” sense, but more of a compare and contrast sense. As I don’t feel that that novel is about the end of affect, but rather about the closing in on it. At least from my perspective. The difference might be that Greene was a writer before the war, and so his writing habits and perspective might not have been hit the same way as the writers who came about after that period. Have you read it? If not, I highly recommend it.

It too was filmed in the nineties, but the only thing about it to recommend is that the central scene absolutely captures that moment, especially when realized from different perspectives.Report
