We have been experiencing some system resource issues. We believe the problem may be resolved, but if it is not please bear with us.

I thought about it for a second and, you know what? That is an interesting question. We see the cartoons but I don’t know that we know what page they were on or what the surrounding stories/cartoons were.
*I* know that you find Editorial Cartoons on the penultimate and antepenultimate pages of Section A, but is that something that has been around since Briggs’s time?
So I went to the google to see if I could find a page from a newspaper that had the cartoon on it. There were a bunch of cartoons clipped from the newspapers, but I didn’t find any shots of the page itself.
I did find this Page 9 from the Kokomo Tribune Newspaper. It says “second section” so I’m guessing that this is the front page of what we’d know as Section B.
Now, that’s not Clare Briggs up there at the top. But if you click on the image you see a giant blowup of the page and it’s good enough that you can read the stories. Court cases, deaths, catastrophes, and events.
Assuming that Little Annie Rooney appealed to the same kinda people as Briggs did, I think that the target audience is the type of person to buy a newspaper. I don’t intend that to be tautological. It’s someone who wants a subscription and wants to read stories about court cases, deaths, catastrophes, and events.
So… people who wanted Ur-Twitter delivered to their homes. Twice a day, if “Evening Edition” means anything.Report
