This period saw the rise of what were thought to be superteams, organizations using advanced magic, a willingness to spend, but not stupidly. The Dodgers, the Astros and the Yankees are probably the best examples, but they have one WS win btw/ them. The Cubs were probably talked about as a superteam at one point, but appear to more a good team with a window closing. The Nationals were also good through this period, but almost always seemed to have issues. Almost always.Report

The 2017 NLCS between the Brewers and the Dodgers, and the subsequent World Series between the Dodgers and the Astros was just about the best baseball I can remember watching. The Series this year was a lot of fun, although I had a hard time picking a team to root for. The Nats didn’t really win my heart until the home crowd booed Trump, in part because Juan Soto had frustrated my rooting for Milwaukee and Los Angeles along the way, and I realized that if the Nats won it would be a series in which the visiting team had won each time.

I’ve been watching baseball at least casually since I was a pre-teen. It’s always been fun, but IMO, major league baseball has never been better than it is right now.Report
