I feel slightly called out.
(This was me. The only classes I ever skipped in college were the recitation sections (!) for intro Chem right after the exam, given the evening before. I had an a-hole TA who made it sound like EVERYONE failed, and without the paper in front of me, I had no way to evaluate. Invariably I earned a B or an A, but after that first class when I walked out of there going “Maybe a major in STEM isn’t for me,” I decided just to skip those days.
