    La7: I am going to say that holding competitions regarding loading speed of touchy explosives was most certainly a contributing factor, and if similar behavior was permitted at other loading facilities, the stevedores were right to refuse to work.Report

    • There are so many elements to Port Chicago, and then the munity at Mare later. Munitions is dangerous under the best of situations and ice done my share and never liked it. Amazing it didnt happen more often. You think of the force to all but vaporize a Libery and Victory ship to the point that a 40 ft bow section was the only discernable piece of either left…unreal.Report
