I’m less beat up than last weekend but that’s about all I can say.

I am looking forward to game night.

Also, going to a soccer game tonight, which should be a lot of fun. (It’s block break, their usual fans are all off-campus.)Report

I’m being a good friend this weekend. I’m watching a movie on the couch with my best friend tonight. I’m crafting with my co-workers tomorrow night. It may just turn out to be crafting cocktails, but we’ll see where the night takes us. Sunday I am baking a friend’s birthday request cookies.

I have been telling myself I would get back on the exercise horse as well. I’m having trouble finding the energy. I’m 11 weeks postpartum today so I really don’t have any excuse other than the pumping breastmilk in the middle of the night. I’m too tired. Also, I burn 1,000 calories a day making the milk so I’m eating everything in sight and still dropping weight. Exercise would be healthier.Report

With any justice, they’d shoot my horse after this week.

I will be spending the weekend doing pretty hardcore wiring in my house, to the level of removing and replacing whole circuits. Fish tape, hole saws, 14/2 Romex, the works.Report

Mid fall break for me, and wow, did I need it. Thursday was spent cleaning house (well, the public rooms, and this is how cleaning goes for me: I deep-cleaned the bathroom and kitchen extensively because I did them first, then I mostly-cleaned the living room but didn’t pull all the furniture out from the wall to sweep behind it, then I kind of half-assed the dining room and the hallway….and didn’t touch my bedroom or office.)

Yesterday was a meet-up with a good friend with whom I share common interests (knitting and reading and good food) but don’t get to see often enough because we live too far apart. I drove 7 hours to effectively spend 5 hours with a person, that’s how few and far between my IRL friends are.

Today I am taking off. Not even leaving the house, except to get the mail. Didn’t even put make up on.

Tomorrow, after church, I might put the binding on a quilt I’ve had back from the longarmer for a couple weeks and never yet got to.Report

Didn’t want to jinx things until it was done, and the important weekend project was deferred until this afternoon by Amazon Prime mysteriously taking four days to do two-day delivery… Oven malfunctioned last week, keeping the heating element on until the safety override kicked it off with an “oven too hot” error code. Online research said it was either the controller board or the temperature sensor. Sensor was $20 at Amazon and Prime eligible. Took ten minutes to replace the old one after the package arrived. Everything seems to work fine now. Actually, it seems to hold the temperature more accurately than I can remember it doing for years.

Best and worst of first-world tech on display here. On the bad side, all appliances are a microcontroller plus sensors and actuators these days. When that controller dies, it’s expensive (sensors not so much). On the good side, you can actually find answers to technical questions about the devices, and the whole country/world is your shopping place for parts.Report
