Don’t believe the link about Ultra-Orthodox Jews. It would turn up as a big conversation in Jewish media if it were true. It isn’t.

The doxing trolls are evil. No exception. This is why the right to privacy is very important even in the time of the selfie.Report

so you’re pro snuff porn? You’d rather see people die than see someone, anyone know about it?

It’s not wise to talk in terms of “no exceptions” unless you’re ready to really, truly mean it. (I do, really and truly, mean it about torture — no exceptions.).Report

I will echo what Lee says about the ultra-Orthodox story. There is no big spiritual meltdown among the ultra-Orthodox Jews. If there were, it would be covered in the Jewish press.

This strikes me as the same kind of lie as when someone said Christopher Hitchens had a death-bed conversion. There seems to be a great need, too great, to have everyone convert to Christianity and for affirming stories on being really right. There is something very needy about this.Report

Boris Johnson just announced he won’t be running for leader of the Conservative Party (hence the next PM). This makes the UK a shit show supreme. No one wants to or knows how to clean up the Brexit mess:

    • He pulled out because he was unlikely to win. It looks like it’s going to be May. And if Labour is stick with Corbyn, it looks like it might be Prime Minister May.

I’d thought that May was genuinely Remain, but the more I’ve read the more J_A seems right that she’s kind of shifty. Which means that far from clarity, the general election (if there is one) is going to involve two Reluctant Remainers with a referendum to Leave.

Or Cameron stays on, there is no election, and he has to figure out what to do.Report

“I’m honestly surprised that they’re willing to destroy this much capital because they’re not cheap to train.”

They’re assumed to only have a limited service life, and after that their physical condition can’t be verified without testing of each animal that costs more than training a new one.

And you’d think “well just adopt them out to families who want a dog” but that means they have to be brought in as livestock, and that’s one of those things that is not-exactly-BANNED-but-just-made-incomprehensibly-difficult. But hey, if you think the government shouldn’t do things then move to Somalia, you racist.Report

    RE: Twitter Trolls

“A band of Twitter trolls alleging to be from the Middle East”

That emphasized bit is kind of an important aspect because when you say “Twitter trolls” without any extension, people think “white dudes who play video games and watch cartoon porn”.Report
