When Kimmie and I first talked about this, it was following the publication of Rufus’s brilliant “How Much for Oral Sex?

I wasn’t able to get it ready in time for while that post was still headlining, but that’s the original context for this.Report

Putting my standard disclaimer on: This review may be biased, there may be conflicts of interest (known or unknown), so watch the movie and make up your own mind!Report

I appreciate the review, Kimmi: now I know to avoid this movie at all costs. Soul crushing isn’t a genre I’m all that drawn too.Report

Thanks for the review Kimmi, with this and Dogtooth perpetually slipping to the bottom of my “must watch” list, I feel like I’m going to need those Clockwork Orange toothpicks to get through it.

BTW, have you seen Lanthimos “The Lobster”? Beautiful film. Raises a host of uncomfortable philosophical questions. I’m still trying to figure out how much of it is style and how much is substance but it definitely left an impression.Report

No, I haven’t seen “The Lobster”
If you like my reviews of “really shitty things you ought to never see”… Maybe I should write one on the best movie Poland’s ever made… and why you ought to never watch it.

As it is, I need to review “Women’s Private Parts” next… (another bit of commentary on Rufus’ work, from a completely different perspective).
