Jaybird

Jaybird is Birdmojo on Xbox Live and Jaybirdmojo on Playstation's network. He's been playing consoles since the Atari 2600 and it was Zork that taught him how to touch-type. If you've got a song for Wednesday, a commercial for Saturday, a recommendation for Tuesday, an essay for Monday, or, heck, just a handful a questions, fire off an email to AskJaybird-at-gmail.com

And I’ve encountered my first game-breaking bug.

It’s right outside of Diamond City (I was going there to clean up a certain area) and there is a Mutant Hound there that cannot be targeted or damaged. I tried sniping, I tried the shotgun, I tried melee weapons, I tried luring it over to a car and then blowing the car up right next to it. Zero damage, each time.

It could do damage to me, of course.

So I’m waiting on the patch while I futz around in the top half of the map.Report

I might be bugged myself, but I’m doing the same thing. Exploring. Managed to carefully snipe down a Raider in Power Armor armed with a Fat man. Unfortunately no ammo, as he shot it either at ghouls or Dogmeat. I didn’t attack him until I was sure he was out.

I’m working through Lexington now, and working on getting Sanctuary set up. I spent a LOT of time building the Great Wall of Sanctuary. Only one entrance, heavily covered in turrets. And a death-trap of a tunnel. Way over-defended for 8 people. 🙂Report

The BoS is the entity I was saying I was reluctant to join last week. Because, frankly, those guys are asses. They could actually be making a difference, but are too hung up on their dogma to even consider it. I’m doing better than they are, and I’m just some random guy who knows how to build things! So I’ve been running around doing companion quests instead. (Although really only Nick has presented me with a traditional one so far.)

However, other stuff has happened in the main plot where I’m not quite sure I don’t need to join BoS. Let’s see…without spoilers, I exited a plot building and…BoS stuff happened. (You’ll know it when you see it.)

So I guess I actually need to join them.

And I’m desperately trying to avoid any sort of strategy guide about the plot. It’s kinda weird playing and not knowing exactly where the story is going, haven’t done that in a long time for Fallout.

I’m not even sure about the overall plot, it’s pretty clear who the *villain* is (Well, baring some insane plot twist, and that’s not actually Fallout’s style.) and I’m assuming the story is to take them down, but I’m wondering if there are multiple people that are going to oppose them.Report

Blood Bowl II. I’ve got a good friend who was recently relocated (back) to Australia and he’s trying to scrape together enough people to start a Blood Bowl league. While waiting for the league to start, I’ve been enjoying playing games with human and elf teams, relearning the rules and sussing out strategies (top tips: Don’t get players killed and score touchdowns). I don’t normally like playing games against people, but I’m looking forward to this, not only because of the chance to interact with my friend, but also because the AI is dumb, dumb, dumb.Report
