My understanding is that the hair thing was a complete accident when the actor playing Londo was halfway through hair-and-makeup and somebody saw him and went, “That’s what we want!”
I have fond memories of B5 but mostly because it came in a relative drought for halfway decent TV sci-fi. I like the defined-story-of-fixed-duration concept as opposed to the standard never-ending story that nevertheless ends for some combination of low ratings and writer fatigue. Much more satisfying. But B5 was really a pretty good story with a wrapper of almost embarrassing goofiness.Report
