I’d live in Texas over Indiana. In fact, given that IU was one of my grad school finalists (best mathematical psych in the world at the time), so I kinda did pick Texas over Indiana.

I know there is one answer that is supposed to make me say, “Oh, phew, thank god it’s not the other one!” and one answer that it supposed to make me say, “Oh, I hear it’s nice there, too.”Report

Two of the Oranges in NJ are shit holes, the other two aren’t that much better.

It doesn’t get more, well, pleasant then the intersection of Pleasant Valley Way and Mt. Pleasant Ave and the Pleasantdale Sweet Shop down the road.
Great childhoods end moment: going to the Pleasantdale Sweet Shop as an adult, which used to have an old style diner counter with swivel metal seats, then finding it had the largest collection of porn mags short of 42nd street..Report

@scarletnumbers I’ve been back to West Orange a few times in the past 10 years. I’m not off on it. Where it borders Orange its still fine although the houses are on the old and small side, my cousin lived there up until recently. It’s nicer now then when i went to high school 30 years ago . The other side of town borders frickin Short Hills.Report
