In a decision with potentially large ramifications, New York Federal Judge LaShann DeArcy Hall won't dismiss a libel suit against "Shitty Media Men" creator Moira Donegan.
Explaining, the judge says it is possible that Donegan created the entry herself. The judge believes that Elliott should be able to explore whether the entry was fabricated. Accordingly, discovery proceeds, which will now put pressure on Google to respond to broad subpoena demands. The next motion stage could feature a high-stakes one about the reaches of CDA 230.
After a seven month period where I spent 3 months on the road, I think that I’m finally falling gently back into my home routine. My bladder wakes me up about 4 minutes before the alarm clock, the cats are back to being used to being fed on Daddy’s Schedule rather than on Mommy’s, and I am back to mastery of the travelling salesman problem that the weekly grocery list provides.
As a matter of fact, I reckon that I am one three-day weekend away from returning to my full faculties.
As such, I’m taking tomorrow off and will devote it to such things as “sitting quietly” and “recharging that last little bit” during the day and seeing if there’s any movies that Maribou will be wanting to watch Friday night. Saturday is gaming again (back to Vornheim!). Sunday will, with luck, be a day of rest as well.
Then, when I go back to work on Monday, I’ll be able to be the guy they originally hired last year.
So… what’s on your docket?
