Well, I’ve beaten South Park. It’s a, what? 12-hour game? So, at this point, I can conclusively say: If you love South Park… like, if you’ve seen the movie three or four times and are even now thinking “yeah, I could watch that again”… then I can wholeheartedly recommend this game. You will be howling with laughter. You’ll want to play through a second or third time to make sure you caught all of the jokes, all of the references.
If you like South Park, saw the movie once (and that was enough), you should get this game once it goes on sale because you will play through it once and you will not play through it a second time.
If you can take or leave South Park but you really love RPGs and wonder if this is an RPG that you would want to play? Play Alpha Protocol again while you wait for Pillars of Eternity, Dead State, or Dragon Age: Inquisition to come out.
The gameplay itself is solid, but nothing special, and you’ll be better served with a story that you’ll actually enjoy than you will by a game that will probably offend the crap out of you.
And so, having beaten The Stick of Truth, I realized that… hey! I never beat Infamous! So I’m fixing to start playing that now.
So… what are you playing?
