Rufus is a likeable curmudgeon. He has a PhD in History, sang for a decade in a punk band, and recently moved to NYC after nearly two decades in Canada. He wrote the book "The Paris Bureau" from Dio Press (2021).

  2. “The Apartment” is one of my top five favorite movies. I love that movie so, so much. It has such compassion for its flawed, broken characters. It acknowledges their imperfections and how they’ve brought so much unhappiness on themselves, and wishes them well anyone. It’s a movie that allows its characters to get better.

    The Billy Wilder movie that never gets any love is The Fortune Cookie, even though it has so much going for it: a clever plot, witty, cynical dialog, the first Lemmon-Matthau pairing, and eventual, hard-earned redemption.Report
