    I admit: this is my favorite of the various carols. My preferred rendition is the old man strong baritone trading verses with the boy soprano and I was going to find a youtube of such but I listened to the Beatles version and, I’ll be darned, if they didn’t do a good job capturing what I liked about it even as they were goofing off.Report

    Where I’m from, every Christmas there is a holiday performance by various choirs, the symphony, some dancers doing bits of the Nutcracker, etc. – in the very large theater that seats 1100 people and is *always* sold out for that one performance.

    Mostly, it is a performance, but there is also about a half-an-hour carol sing. So, every year, the choir leads the entire audience in King Wenceslas, low voices on the low part, high voices on the high part.

    I grew up thinking 1100-person harmonies were just what one *did* this time of year…Report
