People who covered Joe Cocker’s “High With A Little Help From My Friends”?Report
Maybe more specifically, people who have recorded the lead vocals for the song. (Ringo sang it on Sgt. Pepper.)Report
“With a Little Help from My Friends” was a Lennon/McCartney song, originally on Sgt. Pepper.
I can see some claiming that Joe Cocker’s cover version is better-known, but you’re going to have a hard time convincing me that anything in rock music is better-known than Sgt. Pepper.Report
I think @jaybird is already fairly near the mark — my guess is duets with Willie Nelson.Report
Damn. That was fast. I figured this one would be a bit easier than most, but I was hoping to at least get to Tuesday.Report
Though technically I was looking for “collaborative recordings” rather than duets, since one or two of those aren’t properly called duets. Still, that’s splitting hairs.Report
When I submitted a guest Trivia Question, I think the answer was hit on the very first comment.Report
I knew that Tom Petty, Norah Jones, Ray Charles, and Sheryl Crow had all done duets with the IRS’ favorite red-headed cowboy. From there it was a leap of faith.Report
This is probably too general, but if you include bands they have played in each has been a musical guest on SNL multiple times.Report
When I first moved to Austin, and lived down South, I used to see Willie at Walmart occasionally.
I miss the old South Austin.Report
When I lived in Austin many years ago, the Texas Chili Parlor kept a stool and guitar in the corner and allowed some customers to pay their bill by singing a song or two. I recall seeing Willie do that once.Report
That would be almost too awesome.Report
Then the IRS swooped in and confiscated two verses for back taxes.Report
