Monday Trivia No. 123 [Mo wins!]
Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, and Wyoming lack something that the other 31 states all have.
So far as I can tell, no non-state U.S. jurisdiction like D.C. or Puerto Rico has this, either.
In Canada, only Nunavut lacks this; every province, and both the Yukon and Northwest territories have it.

But seriously. The Canadian territories each have less thank 45,000 people, and two of them have what 19 US states don’t. Whatever it is, it’s got to be a lot more popular in Northern Canada than it is around here.Report

I thought about that, but I know that LI has hosted both the US Open and the PGA Championship, which makes it hard to imagine a golf course criteria the state can’t meet.
Unless, of course, Burt has done what so many of us have long wanted and that is rid the state (and, ideally, country) of Stron-Guyland.Report

Michigan has an official ice cream flavor.
I deeply suspect that the path to naming “(such and such) the offiicial (whatever) of State” doesn’t have *THAT* many roadblocks.Report
So i gave into my curiosity to know what was the Official state ice cream flavor of Michigan. Tragically i couldn’t find it, only some Mich based company doing a promotion about their own ice cream as the “official” Pure Michigan flavor, basically an ad campaign. So what is the official ice cream flavor of Mich? Inquiring minds need to know.Report
Oh, I just googled “official state ice cream flavor” and the first link (huffpost!) mentioned that Michigan is the only state to have an official ice cream flavor.
I didn’t feel the need to fact check beyond that.
But, according to the article, it’s “Pure Michigan Caramel Apple”.Report
