You could kill and eat the dog. Two birds with one stone, so-to-speak.Report

    Beautiful dog. Labs are great.

Just a bit ago my wife was looking at videos of Walker Hounds. My gravatar is our former dog, a Walker cross, we believe. He was just the best. He’s been gone about 7 years and we still miss the hell out of him.Report

Murphy is sooooo cute. Stop it, you’re making me want a dog!

There is a class that I teach at work that requires me to demonstrate a skill using an example. To make it easy I use getting a new puppy in the example. After doing the exercise I always tell myself I’m never getting a dog. Good thing you don’t write these pro dog posts as often as I teach the class.Report

He sounds like a great mature dog. I had Britneys when I was growing up and the older made a good hunting dog, the other, just chased steers. Loved them both and they slept on my bed growing up.

Don’t get another dog now that he’s older. He’ll enjoy the time with you more and so will you. 🙂Report

The worst thing about dogs is that their lives are so horrible short. I have had a dog for almost every year of my life. Having to say good bye just gets harder as I get older.

    I will always have a dog.Report

Make sure to give Murphy a perfect day a few times and take lots of pictures. You’ll treasure the memories forever.Report

      Cletus,

I try to give him those kinds of days at least a few times per year. Hopefully we won’t have to worry about his last one for a long time.Report
