When I was in Texas with a few friends to watch football game (Cowboys, natch) a woman originally from England started mocking the US for its inconsistency between foreign and domestic policy. Another guy there said, “what are you talking about? It says right there in the national anthem “land of the free, home of the cheaters””. She looked at him for a few seconds uncertainly.
