Koz has made an assertion that the League is overwhelmingly in favor of PPACA. I found this odd, since it seemed to me that the members who most frequently comment were at best “not fans”, with the exception of Erik.
So, a poll. Regardless of whether or not you believe that PPACA is Constitutional or not (which is actually a major not-side topic on a goodly number of the HCR threads), do you support PPACA as enacted? (edited to add) To clarify: would you have voted to pass PPACA on the floor, as a voting member of the Congress? (/edited) If you don’t want to get wordy in the comments, a simply “yea” or “nay” will do for the purposes of this poll. If you don’t mind getting wordy, and changes could be made that would lead you to support it… what changes would have to be made for you to support it?
I’ll start. I don’t like it. I am not a fan of insurance mandates. In particular, I think PPACA puts all the wrong market forces in all the wrong places; the incentives are all wrong. If you believe that (some level of) health care should be provided to the commons as a political right, this is the wrong way to do it.
