    Answer: unfortunately, no.

    My impression thus far of the first two episodes is:
    – the musical numbers are shoehorned in an uncomfortably awkward manner.
    – the blatant auto-tuning on said numbers is no longer just a nuisance for me and has instead become a major distraction that reinforces the awkwardness of the above
    – the new plotlines somehow have the feel of being anti-climactic even before they’ve really gotten off the ground…they just seem like rehashes of time-worn high school drama memes, and outside of the reliably fantastic Jane Lynch, the acting just isn’t good enough to overcome this.

    I’m still going to watch – the above criticisms notwithstanding, it’s not remotely at trainwreck levels – but I don’t see myself losing any sleep if I miss a few episodes, and I expect that season 2 will in fact reach trainwreck levels.Report
