    We were so far away from major cities that in the evening the sky literally lit up a million lights.

    I get the sense that this is one of those “real costs” that people don’t see enough of when they’re discussing climate change policy in general.Report

      That’s a good point, Nob. I’m generally in favor of subjecting climate change programs to rigorous cost-benefit analysis, but most conventional metrics (GDP, for example) don’t capture the importance of keeping a place like Ifalik above water.Report
