    Excellent article. I think anti-Racism has already pushed the kind of attacks we’re seeing into the area of subtext rather than being blatant. While those attacks can be just as damaging to the common welfare project, I still think we’re better off than we were in the 1960s.

    Also, on a random note, I miss Imus in the Morning on MSNBC. Sure he was offensive, but that was his schtick.Report

    Good post and I agree. What is connected to this is the often quite nasty and upfront hatred many (but not by no means all) conservatives have for anybody who is poor , down and out or getting help from government programs they don’t like. They is quite of bit of Othering going on at anybody who isn’t like them, whether they are DFH’s, or the wide and wingy definition they have of liberals or people who they are sure are leaching off of them.Report
