I wonder. Personally, I’m torn, and will be following up on this post with my own. I’m very drawn to the paleo-vision of America. I’m very much opposed to the rampant individualism that seems to have led, almost directly, the advent of the Big State as we know it. Then again, has taps already been played for that dream? Have we entered an era where the State will inevitably play a major role in many, many arenas of our lives? Ideally, nationalized health care would not be necessary. The structure of our society would not call for it. But now? In this landscape of detachment we’ve reaped?

But I will get carried away. I’ll save it for my post…Report

E.D. – In your follow up:

    1) I hope you really flesh-out your “paleo-vision of America.”

    2) Explain your opposition to “rampant individualism that seems to have led, almost directly, the advent of the Big State as we know it.” (This seems contradictory. Or perhaps it simply requires a Big State to protect rampant individualism?)Report
